I guess I should introduce myself...my name is Kara and I'm an addict for anything DIY and probably many things that shouldn't be.
I'm a mom of two beautiful girls and wife to a very patient, supportive husband. He never knows what I'll be getting into next and I'm fairly certain he has increased my life insurance policy.
As with any DIYer, things can look so much worse before that final ahhhhhh moment (you heard the angels there right?) By day I am an interior designer and faux artist. I LOVE MY JOB! It has turned into so much more than "put this here and I think this room should be in this color palette." I paint, do any crazy faux you can think of, shop with and for clients, build items for their homes, refinish furniture, hang drapes, lay tile and just about anything they ask for...hence the name Evolve Interiors. Full service for sure, but I don't think I would want it any other way. These wonderful people have added so much to my life and have become very near and dear to my heart. It has been quite a journey for the last 10 years and so I decided that adding a blog to my list of things to do would be like the cherry on top!
During this new adventure I am hoping to show you that building, re-purposing and changing things doesn't always have to be scary or overly expensive.
(As I type this I am thinking to myself "blogging seems scary, what if they don't like my projects? What have I gotten myself into?" )
Recently, my very dear friend shoved me (lovingly) out of my comfort zone and challenged me to broaden these horizons. I don't feel quite as overwhelmed and I'm definitely willing to give it my best. Surely this will be fun right? With that being said, I would love to be your shov-ee friend!! Let's go make something beautiful!
I have several projects to share with you and as I get a handle on the whole "blogging" thing I would love to know what projects you would like to see or what you're interested in. We're in this together!
Your feedback and interaction will help determine how I shape this in the future.
I'll leave you with a sneak peek of a project I plan to share. Let's just say I was not going to pay the asking price and decided to build it myself.
